What is a wishlist app?
A wishlist lets a customer save a product to buy later. As of September 2025 Shopify has no such feature, so you need an app. With one installed, you can add a heart or star button to the product page and customers save a product with a single tap. Saved products are available any time on a wishlist page, which makes comparing and considering products straightforward. Combined with email and LINE, price-drop and back-in-stock notifications go out automatically, so nobody misses out. For the store, sending the latest information immediately turns stock over faster and grows revenue. Most wishlist apps are built outside Japan; for the Japanese market, StoreCRM provides this functionality.

Checking the price is the top reason people use a wishlist, at 16.77%
According to research by Bizrate Insights, the most common reason consumers use a wishlist is to check the price, at 16.77% — a way to watch for price movements and discounts. Sharing follows at 9.64%, where people share products they want with family and friends as a reference for gifts or for their own decisions. A further 7.49% use it as a buy list for items that are out of stock, so they can buy smoothly once stock returns. The wishlist, in other words, is not merely a place to save things: it plays several roles at once — comparison, sharing and a nudge towards buying.

Comparing products, so nothing gets missed
As noted above, saved products are listed on the customer's account page, so they can compare colours, sizes and variants and check stock and prices. And if they are logged in to your Shopify store, they can save something interesting on the commute, compare properly on a computer at home, and go straight to a purchase. That convenience shortens the time from comparison to decision and reduces the drop-off that comes from deliberating over several products.
Back-in-stock and price-drop alerts that bring customers back
With StoreCRM, customers who saved a product are notified automatically over LINE or email when it is restocked or its price drops. That brings them back to the store and stops them missing out. Timing and channel are configurable per product, so you can aim for the moment a customer is most likely to respond. Adding a coupon or related products to the notification encourages browsing: pairing a restock announcement with other sizes and colours, for instance, invites more than one purchase.
Using wishlist data to optimise inventory
A wishlist benefits the store as much as the customer. A wishlist app accumulates data on product, colour, size, price band and date added, which shows you which colours and sizes are popular and how long people take to decide. If, for the same T-shirt, black in medium is saved far more often, order more of it; if red in XL is not, order less or discount it earlier. Sending restock and price-drop notifications automatically to the people who saved an item also reduces the risk of overstocking.
The benefits of a wishlist app on Shopify
An app adds a wishlist without any awkward theme work. Using the saved data for notifications, and measuring the results on a dashboard, then lets you run considerably more sophisticated marketing.
Save, compare and decide, with no theme changes
The apps covered here install without rebuilding your theme or switching to a compatible one. Adding a wishlist button to product and collection pages is simple, and customers can then save what interests them and compare later.
Notifications that translate directly into revenue
A wishlist on its own does not realise the feature's potential. Combined with immediate price-drop and back-in-stock alerts and a "buy later" flow, it drives real purchase intent. Some apps, StoreCRM among them, handle email and LINE inside the same app; where that is not possible, connect notification, review, points or subscription apps to fill the gaps. Building on the wishlist as a starting point gives you a far more powerful promotional system. Smaller stores should start with a wishlist plus price-drop and back-in-stock alerts; larger ones should add reviews and likes and aim for more precise targeting.
Visibility through analytics
Making wishlist additions, notification open rates and post-notification purchase rates visible lets you iterate quickly on subject lines, copy, timing and incentives. Managing analysis and execution in one place speeds up decisions, which feeds into repeat purchases and lifetime value. If one app does not cover everything, combine it with an external analytics tool or an integration.
LINE and email marketing beyond the wishlist
Three further tactics are worth adopting alongside a wishlist. The first is abandoned cart reminders. Telling customers who left just before buying that "your cart is waiting" or that "stock is running low" brings them back, and adding a coupon pushes the purchase along considerably. The second is anniversary campaigns: automatically sending a coupon or an exclusive offer on a birthday or the anniversary of a first purchase creates a sense of occasion and improves both repeat rates and loyalty. The third is segmented sending combined with LINE rich menus: varying what you send by purchase history and customer attributes, and offering the right route through a rich menu, raises purchase intent. Together, these three contribute enormously to lifetime value — and StoreCRM does all of them in a single app.
Abandoned cart reminders
Customers frequently add something to the cart and then leave without buying. A LINE message or email a while later — "your cart is waiting", "stock is running low" — brings them back to the cart and pushes the purchase along. Adding a coupon supplies the motivation of "buying now is the better deal", which improves the conversion rate. Reminders do more than recover lost sales; they build trust in the brand. Get the timing and the content right and you can expect both more revenue and a better repeat rate.
Anniversary campaigns: turning birthdays and purchase anniversaries into fans
Celebrating a customer's birthday or the anniversary of their first purchase works beautifully as an automated LINE or email campaign, and it builds genuine fans. A discount coupon or an exclusive offer makes the customer feel singled out, which deepens their attachment to the store. Combined with the wishlist the effect is stronger still: a birthday coupon for a saved product, or a suggestion of related items on a purchase anniversary, contributes substantially to repeat purchases and lifetime value. A small store will delight customers with nothing more than a simple coupon on a birthday or a purchase anniversary. A large one can personalise using customer data — a discount on a saved product, a recommendation of related items. Combine LINE and email with a points programme or reviews and you give customers something that genuinely feels special.
Segmented sending × LINE rich menus × wishlists
Segmented sending delivers the right information based on purchase history, browsing history and customer attributes: new arrivals for repeat customers, a review request for first-time buyers, an invitation to a VIP-only sale for high spenders.
Adding a LINE rich menu makes it more effective still. A rich menu is the large, permanently visible menu at the bottom of a LINE Official Account chat. You design it freely from images and buttons so that a single tap takes the user to a product page, a coupon or a contact form. Showing different rich menus to different customers improves the experience considerably: a shortcut to a favourite category for customers who buy from it, or a coupon page added for people in a campaign.
Bring the wishlist into that and it becomes more personal again. A button that shows coupons for saved categories, a flash sale announcement, a back-in-stock button — combining what the customer cares about with the right notification means they can buy at exactly the right moment. Segmented sending, rich menus and wishlists together create a genuinely distinctive customer experience and improve both repeat rates and lifetime value.

StoreCRM
A full-featured CRM app that sends both email and LINE
StoreCRM is a Japanese-built CRM and marketing automation app that adds a wishlist to your Shopify store. The admin and the documentation are fully localised into Japanese, so Japanese-language stores can adopt it with confidence. The app on its own adds the wishlist and covers everything built on top of it — back-in-stock and price-drop alerts for saved products — end to end. The wishlist works for logged-in and logged-out customers alike, and you can restrict it to logged-in customers if you want to push signups.
Every automation can reach the customer through two channels, LINE and email, which raises conversion. Reminders about unused coupons, restocks and price changes on saved products, and anniversary campaigns for birthdays and purchase anniversaries are all available as ready-made automations, which makes it excellent for growing repeat business. Running LINE and email together reaches a wide range of customers, and with templates you only need to swap the images and the copy, so you can put it to work the day you install it. LINE rich menus are supported too.
Swym Wishlist Plus
A full-featured wishlist that works for guests too
Swym Wishlist Plus has an English-only admin and documentation, but its feature set is exceptionally complete. Customers can save products without logging in and reach their list from any device. The free plan holds up to 500 items; paid plans cover larger use and more advanced features. Setup takes only a few minutes, and it supports current themes, Shopify POS, checkout and Flow. Integrating external marketing tools adds automatic out-of-stock, back-in-stock and price-drop notifications, and lists can be shared by social media or email. The lack of Japanese support is worth noting, but its convenience and extensibility make it a powerful driver of repeat purchases and revenue.
Wishlist Hero
Flexible and multilingual: a wishlist with reminders
Wishlist Hero adds a wishlist and reminders to a Shopify store with very little effort. The admin and support are not available in Japanese, but multilingual display is supported, so a Japanese-language store can use it without trouble. It sets up in one click and is compatible with the popular themes, which makes it approachable for beginners. Customers can save products without logging in, from product pages, collection pages and quick view. It also detects stock-outs and price drops and sends reminder emails automatically, and supports sharing by social media and email. The free plan covers up to 500 saves a month, so you can use the core features at minimal cost. Paid plans add reporting and integrations with external services, including marketing tools.
Swish (formerly Wishlist King)
B2C and B2B, with efficient CSV workflows
Swish is a highly customisable wishlist app that integrates seamlessly into a Shopify store. The admin and documentation are English-only with no Japanese support, but multilingual display is available. Integration with your theme is straightforward and the result looks like part of your store. Free setup and customisation support is included, so the display is tuned for you immediately after installation — a considerable advantage. It offers guest wishlists, save-for-later from the cart, several list formats (public lists, favourites, saved items), sharing by email and social media, multiple wishlists, and CSV import and export. External marketing integrations are supported, as are automated emails for stock and price changes. Pricing runs from $4.95 to $49 a month according to your Shopify plan, with all features available on every plan. It is particularly well suited to stores that value usability and room to grow.
Wishlist Pro (formerly Wishlist Supply List)
Multilingual, with strong support for both B2C and B2B
Wishlist Pro is a capable wishlist app covering both B2C and B2B. The admin and documentation are English-based, but multilingual display including Japanese means a Japanese-language store can use it without trouble. Customers can create and manage multiple lists freely, and a CSV-driven bulk order form handles large orders and distributor reordering. Save-for-later and social sharing smooth the buying experience. It integrates with the Shopify admin and supports current themes, so installation takes under five minutes. Unlimited lists, a dashboard for demand analysis, and B2B reordering and bulk ordering make it flexible enough for a wide range of businesses and sizes.
Prime Review
Reviews, wishlists and Q&A in one
Prime Review adds three things at once: product reviews, likes and wishlists, and Q&A. It is available in Japanese, so it slots into a Japanese-language store easily. Installation is one click, and you can enable only the features you need. Reviews accept images and video, and custom fields can be added; replying to reviewers from the admin is simple. Product pages show the average rating and its breakdown, and coupons can be issued to encourage reviews. Users can also build lists with the wishlist and like features, and move straight from a list to the cart — behaviour that indicates strong purchase intent. Q&A answers pre-purchase questions on the store itself, raising engagement. It integrates with Shopify Flow, so notifications for restocks and price changes can be automated.
Simple Wishlist
A straightforward, Japanese-built wishlist app
Simple Wishlist is a Japanese app that adds a wishlist to a Shopify store with minimal effort. The admin and the documentation are fully localised into Japanese, so Japanese-language stores can adopt it with confidence. An add-and-remove button goes onto product and collection pages in one click, and each customer's list of up to 50 products appears on their account page. There is no complicated pricing: no limit on products or saves, just a flat $9.99 a month, with a seven-day free trial.
Summary
Every app covered here adds a wishlist to your Shopify store and helps push customers towards a purchase. If managing it in Japanese and getting support in Japanese matter to you, choose a Japanese app or one with Japanese support; apps built abroad support you mainly in English. When you adopt one, start with the free plan or the trial and check the fit for your store. And use the wishlist data to understand which products are popular and when saves turn into purchases: that drives repeat business, raises average customer value and, in the end, grows revenue.
